With large doses of humor, Acting Intelligence addresses a very current problem that fascinates and worries viewers of different ages and occupations. No one is safe: Due to advances in technology like ChatGPT and other forms of A.I. generative, sooner rather than later, we could all be replaced – in our jobs, and even in our private lives – by cybernetic versions that are faster, more efficient and more powerful than us. But the stage is the frontier of reality, because there is no act more real and human than theater... Until now. If humans are replaced in the theater, then they will be removed from every other realm. How long until that moment arrives?
During its premiere season, held at the Hellenic Theater in 2023, this staging aroused a strong response from the public and critics, obtaining the Award from the Association of Theater Critics and Journalists in the category of Best Actor in Principal Role and the Billboard Theater Audience Award in the category of Best Actor, both forRobert Beck, an actor who, despite his youth, amazingly faces the challenge of giving life to both the human actor, Paco, and the android Paquito. The production has also been nominated in the categories ofBest Leading Actorand Best Playwriting at the Los Metro Awards; Best Play of the Year, Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Mexican Playwriting at the Association of Theater Critics and Journalists Awards; and Best Play, Best Direction and Best Art Design at the Billboard Theater Audience Awards.
