Ganadora del premio ACPT al Mejor Actor de 2023. I. A. Acting Intelligence Written and directed by Flavio González Mello A brilliant exploration of the meaning of truth in theatre (...) González Mello delves in a fascinating way into the various possibilities of simulation. -Juan Villoro, Revista de la Universidad A production whose assembly aims to win over new audiences for an intelligent and sensitive theatre, committed to meeting the demands of commercial exhibition. - Miguel Angel Quemain, La Jornada Semanal A science fiction comedy capable of keeping an entire audience laughing for more than two and a half hours. - Juan Carlos Araujo, Entretenia Great. It's gripping from beginning to end, it's fun, it's entertaining, but above all it invites reflection. - Hugo Hernandez, El Sol de México "A re-reading of Hamlet for the 21st century (...) Today Shakespeare –in dialogue with González Mello– has something to tell us about artificial intelligence." - Edgardo Bermejo Mora, La Crónica de hoy Synopsis A.I. Actor Intelligence is a futuristic comedy of screw-ups, which talks about what is required for the audience to suspend their disbelief in the face of the theatrical event when a flesh-and-blood actor who plays the role of Hamlet is replaced by a robot identical to him. Ultimately, an actor reproduces behaviors and emotions, which is also the ultimate goal of Artificial Intelligence. The question is: is it possible to make viewers believe that emotions are real, even if the actor is not? Could you fool yourselves? The work confronts the viewer with an imminent reality: due to advances in technology, sooner rather than later we could all be replaced in our jobs, and even in our love and family lives. Because if humans can be replaced in the theater, they can be replaced anywhere. Theater is the limit stage of our reality and our humanity; because there is no act more real, and more human, than theater... Until now. No one is safe: Due to advances in technology like ChatGPT and other forms of A.I. generative, sooner rather than later, we could all be replaced – in our jobs, and even in our private lives – by cybernetic versions that are faster, more efficient and more powerful than us. But the stage is the frontier of reality, because there is no act more real and human than theater... Until now. If humans are replaced in the theater, then they will be removed from every other realm. How long until that moment arrives? Lascurain or the brevity of power (2005-2010) A ruthless political satire (and what good political theater of such a good level does us). Olga Harmony, La Jornada In the staging, the director manages to seduce the audience with the gradual revelation of the protagonist's pathetic weaknesses. Luz Emilia Aguilar Zínser, dfTravesías magazine The tone of the work is farcical but that is why it sounds plausible and what happens there does not refer only to February 1913, but to every presidential exercise since then. Miguel Ángel Granados Chapa, Reforma Synopsis On February 19, 1913, in the midst of a serious political and military crisis, the Minister of Foreign Relations, Pedro Lascurain, occupied the Presidency of Mexico for 45 minutes (the peak of political power in the country). Starting from this historical fact, the work proposes an imaginary plot about what could have happened during those three quarters of an hour and explores the question: what changes occur in the soul of the ruler during his mandate? Because, in the relativity of political times, Pedro Lascurain's 45 minutes are enough to portray the dizzying and crazy transformation that any other President undergoes in the 6 years that his mandate lasts. 1/1 Recognitions “José Solé” Award for Best Production of 2005 (Mexican Association of Theater Critics). “Fernando Soler” Award for Best Actor of 2005 awarded ex aequo to Héctor Bonilla and Carlos Cobos (Mexican Association of Theater Critics). festival participations XXI Festival of Mexico in the Historic Center.
